'Misty Mountains' (2020-2021)

In the series 'Misty Mountains' (2020-2021), Neah Byson engages with mountain ranges. For her final project in her Fine Arts studies, she chooses the motif of mountain peaks in misty surroundings. The individual paintings present different artistic solutions. Sometimes they have a uniform coloration, and other times a subdued variable coloration. In the larger formats, there are areas that are more expressive and areas that are calmer. Through these varying tempos, Neah adds tension to the painting.

Overall, Neah explores how the illusion of a mountain range can be created using different approaches and solutions. The paintings of 'Misty Mountains' have an atmospheric effect. Throughout the series, Neah Byson seeks to merge her two focuses - coloration and rhythm - in the paintings. She was inspired by Ralf Fleck with his sophisticated differentiated colorations.
